Jerry del Missier is President of Barclays Capital and Co-Chief Executive of Corporate & Investment Banking. In November 2009, he became a member of the Barclays Group Executive Committee.
At Barclays Capital, he is responsible for the firm’s Global Markets businesses, encompassing the Trading, Sales and Research functions globally. He is a member of Barclays Capital’s Executive Committee. Mr. del Missier joined Barclays Capital in June 1997 from Bankers Trust in London where he had been a Senior Managing Director of Derivatives Products, responsible for the European business. Prior to this, he was based in Toronto, Canada, where he was responsible for the Canadian Dollar interest rate derivatives business. Before Bankers Trust, he worked for the Bank of Nova Scotia.
Between 1999 and 2004 Mr. del Missier was on the Board of ISDA (International Swaps and Derivatives Association). He currently serves on the Board of SIFMA (Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association), on the Board of Trustees of Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario and on the UK Advisory Board of the charity Room to Read.
Mr. del Missier has a BSc in Chemical Engineering (1985) and an MBA (1987), both
from Queen’s University, Ontario.
